Time to Decorate for Christmas!

I guess I'm not very good at this yet - I think about posting when I am in the car or at the store. Then I forget when I am home!

Thanksgiving was wonderful!
My husband and sons got up
early to help out with the 10K
run that our Church puts on
every Thanksgiving Day. This
year was a recordbreaker with
the race raising $30,000.00
dollars for the school we built
in Uganda! I stayed home and
cooked - it was peaceful and
relaxing. The maple tree in
our front yard was a gorgeous
flaming red when the sun rose!
By the next day, after a cold
front came through, it was bare!

We got our tree yesterday and tonight my husband, 2 sons and the older sons girlfriend and I will decorate the tree. This is a longstanding tradition with us, one of many, and I treasure it. Family traditions are so important. They provide such a sense of stability and reassurance.

I really need to get back to quilting. I don't know when or how but somewhere along the last few months I lost my mojo. I can't seem to concentrate on my sewing or being creative or anything. I did just finish two quilts. OK I tried to upload the photos but I can't seem to make it work. I'll get there. Bear with me - techno savvy I am not!

It's been snowing all day and it's so peaceful. Yesterday my ladies group from church and I went on a tour of the White House. We do this every year and then we lunch afterward at the Old Ebbitt Grill. It was cold and windy but sunny and the White House looked beautiful all decorated for the holidays. We even saw Barney and Mrs. Beasley - being carried around by Secret Service agents!
